1 Corinthians 9:16 For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting.

For necessity is laid upon me.

Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!

Standing on top of a seemingly insignificant hill across from the Parthenon in Athens, Greece doesn't seem like it should be a major highlight of mine while on a trip with my wife to Turkey and Greece, but it was. The hill that we are standing on is better known as Mars Hill. It is the place, the actual place, where Paul the Apostle was taken to reason with the Epicurean and Stoic Philosophers after hearing Paul reasoning in the synagogue and in the marketplace. Paul stood in the midst of Mars Hill, or the Areopagus, and he preached. I am so thankful for Paul's boldness, for his willingness to preach the Word. I pray that God grants me the same boldness, along with the same creativity, to preach the Gospel that Paul had.

We wanted to see first hand the places that were mentioned in Scripture, and potentially stand in the exact same places that Paul, John, Timothy, Titus and many others stood while preaching the Good News.
